What Does Berean Bible Church Believe?

> We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God (Psalm 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; II Peter 1:19-21). We preach from the King James Version in our church services and support the Traditional Church Texts (Hebrew Masoretic and Greek Received Texts) passed down through the centuries (“Why I Still Use the King James Bible”).

> We believe in one God; who is eternal, self-existent, infinite and immutable. We believe He has one nature, one essence, and one substance; yet manifests Himself to man in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - the Trinity (Deuteronomy 6:4; I Timothy 1:17; James 1:17; I John 4:4).

> We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Savior of mankind. We believe Jesus Christ to be eternally God and to possess all the attributes of Deity. We believe that the Lord Jesus was virgin-born, that He was God incarnate, and that the purpose of the incarnation was to reveal God and redeem man. We believe He lived a perfect, sinless life, at the end of which He was offered for all mankind as a substitutionary sacrifice for man’s sin. This sacrifice was a just payment for the forgiveness of sins. After his death, He arose from the grave in resurrection to conquer death, prove that the Father accepted His sacrifice, and give us the promise of eternal life. We believe He ascended into Heaven after his resurrection to be seated at the right hand of the Father (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6; John 1:1. 1:3; 14:6; 11:25-26; Philippians 2:5-11; I Timothy 2:5; 3:16; Titus 2:10-15; Heb. 1:3; I Peter 1:19).

> We believe all men were born with an inherited sin nature received from Adam. Because of this nature, man is a sinner and in need of a Savior. The only hope for deliverance is by expressing personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior through what has been accomplished on the cross of Jesus. Only through Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice on the cross can a man be delivered from his sin. All those who reject Christ as their Savior will be condemned to an eternity in the Lake of Fire (Acts 16:31; Rom. 3:10-13, 6:23, 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8-9; Rev. 20:11-14).

> We Believe that Jesus will return for his saints in the pretribulational Rapture, followed by the seven-year Tribulation Period. We believe in the premillennial return of Christ to the earth and his literal rule of 1,000 years. Following the 1,000 year reign of Christ the new heavens and new earth will be ushered in (I Cor. 15:51-58; I Thess. 4:13-18, 5:1-9; Rev. 19-22). We believe in the literal interpretation of Scriptures and understanding of Bible prophecy (2 Tim. 2:15).

> We believe in Dispensations with the Church beginning in Acts 2. We observe the Lord’s Supper and believer’s baptism as being part of the Church Age (Matt. 28:19-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26). We also believe in missions and personal evangelism (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8;1 Thess. 1:8), Bible separation from apostasy and worldliness (Romans 12:1-3; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17), and the eternal security of believers (John 6:47; 10:28-29). We reject Charismatic doctrine, ecumenicalism, contemporary forms of worship, Calvinism, and Reformed Theology which in various ways distort the true meanings of Scripture, holiness, God’s plan of salvation, and prophetic events (Acts 17:11; 1 Pet. 1:16).
